It is the wonder and mystery of a benevolent Santa checking his list that has kept the magical spirit of Christmas alive for centuries. As a young boy, I was captivated by the image of an old, white-bearded man scrolling through my letter with pen in hand, poised to add my name to his legendary list of good girls and boys. Treasured memories of this enchanted tradition inspired me as I painted this piece, which celebrates my vision of this bountiful holiday.
