Bradley J. Parrish's beautiful renditions of Christmas's past move the spirit and warm our hearts. In this work Parrish captures a reunion of friends. Inspired by his wife's Grandmother, an immigrant from Germany, who for years cared and loved her cats as if they were her own children. Parrish wanted to convey this unspoken bond between man and animal. It is an enduring and lasting bond that people have with their animals. It is true and self evident. Parrish says "This piece is special to me not for its artistic value but rather for its meaning. It represents that which endures time. Reunions like the one that I have portrayed in this piece are timeless and special. For people like my wife's Grandmother, a very special lady to me, I saw what an enduring companion her cat like Mitzi gave to her. This kind of love and companionship is the fuel of life. I feel this is a good representation of the true meaning of life and wanted to capture it in a Christmas setting such as this". |
